On Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Florida Supreme Court granted a petition for disciplinary revocation filed by attorney Michelle Lee Farkas. The order allows Farkas to seek readmission to the bar after five years, subject to the court’s continuing jurisdiction. The disciplinary revocation is equivalent to disbarment under Florida Bar rules. The court also ordered Farkas to pay $1,250.00 to The Florida Bar for recovery of costs.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Michelle Lee Farkas,” with case number SC2025-1207.
Farkas’s petition, filed on August 14, 2025, detailed the request for disciplinary revocation with leave to apply for readmission, referencing Rule Regulating Fla. Bar 3-7.12. Farkas acknowledged her understanding of the petition’s implications. At the time of filing, she was facing disciplinary charges related to Florida Bar File No. 2025-00,298(3). The charges stemmed from a complaint filed by a client who hired Farkas in December 2020 for a trust matter, paying her $5,580. The client alleged that Farkas failed to file a case on her behalf, despite providing updates and claiming to have contacted opposing counsel and scheduled hearings with Judge Gloria Walker.
In her petition, Farkas cited ongoing medical issues as the reason for closing her practice and focusing on her health. She stated that she had provided full restitution to the complainant, with proof submitted to Bar counsel. Farkas asserted that granting the petition would not adversely affect the public interest, the integrity of the courts, or public confidence in the legal profession, nor would it hinder the administration of justice.
Farkas also agreed to reimburse the Client Security Fund for any payouts resulting from her misconduct and to reimburse The Florida Bar for disciplinary case costs. She committed to submitting to a trust account audit if requested by The Florida Bar and to providing a sworn financial affidavit within thirty days if requested. Additionally, she agreed to maintain a current mailing address with The Florida Bar for five years after the revocation and to keep the bar informed of her home and business physical addresses.
According to Avvo, Ms. Farkas is a lawyer in Gainesville, Florida. She acquired her law license in Florida in 2006.
