On Friday, October 10, 2025, the Supreme Court of Missouri suspended attorney Syreeta LaShawn McNeal from practicing law, according to an order issued en banc. The suspension is interim, meaning it is in effect until a final decision is reached in a disciplinary proceeding.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Syreeta LaShawn McNeal,” with case no. SC101292.
The action stems from a motion filed by the Chief Disciplinary Counsel, alleging sufficient evidence of probable cause that McNeal is guilty of multiple instances of professional misconduct. The counsel also asserted that McNeal is unable to competently represent her clients and poses a substantial threat of irreparable harm to the public.
The Supreme Court found probable cause to support the allegations. As a result of the suspension, McNeal is required to comply with Rule 5.27, which outlines the procedures to be followed after a disbarment or suspension order. Costs associated with the case are to be paid by McNeal. Chief Justice Brent W. Powell issued the order.
According to Avvo.com, Ms. McNeal is a bankruptcy and debt attorney in Columbia, Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, graduating in 2007. She acquired her law license in Missouri in the same year.
