On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the Board of Immigration Appeals granted a petition to immediately suspend Attorney Dan Roland Larsson from practicing law. This decision follows the acceptance of Larsson’s resignation by the Supreme Court of Oregon on May 15, 2025.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Dan Roland Larsson.”

The suspension was initiated by a joint petition from the Disciplinary Counsel for the Executive Office for Immigration Review and the Disciplinary Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Board’s ruling prohibits Larsson from representing clients before the Board of Immigration Appeals, Immigration Courts, and DHS until the final resolution of the disciplinary proceedings against him. The suspension is under federal regulations outlined in 8 C.F.R. § 1003.103(a)(1) and (4), which detail the conditions under which an immediate suspension can be enacted.

In conjunction with the suspension order, Larsson is required to inform all current clients with pending cases before the relevant immigration authorities of his suspension status in writing. He must also maintain records demonstrating compliance with this directive.

The Board of Immigration Appeals retains the authority to revoke the suspension if it is determined to be in the interest of justice, as stipulated in the same federal regulation. Furthermore, the details of this suspension will be made accessible to the public, including postings at Immigration Courts and other appropriate DHS offices.

According to Avvo.com, Mr. Larsson was an immigration attorney in Bend, Orlando. He attended the Seattle University School of Law, graduating in 1994.
