On Thursday, November 21, 2024, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals indefinitely suspended Attorney Cheryl Moat Taylor from practicing law.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Cheryl Moat Taylor,” with case no. 2024-D090.

The suspension follows a petition from the Board on Professional Responsibility, which cited a disability as the reason for the action. Both the Board and Disciplinary Counsel agreed that an indefinite suspension was appropriate.

The court also granted a motion to file certain documents under seal. Taylor is required to comply with specific regulations regarding suspended attorneys and must submit an affidavit to the court and the Board, as well as provide a copy to Disciplinary Counsel. All ongoing investigations and disciplinary matters concerning her have been put on hold.

According to avvo.com, Ms. Taylor acquired her law license in the District of Columbia in 1995.
