On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Florida Bar filed a petition against attorney Debbie Rachelle Campbell, urging the Supreme Court of Florida to hold him in contempt for failing to provide the documents as requested.

The case is entitled “The Florida Bar v. Debbie Rachelle Campbell,” with case number 2024-70,485(11G)(OSC).
The petition stems from Campbell’s failure to comply with a subpoena duces tecum served on December 27, 2023, as part of a Bar investigation. The subpoena requested documents related to Campbell’s trust accounts and financial records from January 2019 through November 2023. Campbell was originally given until January 19, 2024 to produce the documents but received a 20-day extension from Bar Counsel until February 15th after requesting more time.

However, as of the date the Petition was filed on March 27th, Campbell still had not complied with the subpoena. The attached Finding of Non-Compliance and Finding of Contempt by the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee “G” on March 26th also found that Campbell failed to show good cause for not responding to the subpoena and that the non-compliance was willful.

In the Petition, Bar Counsel requests that the Supreme Court suspend Campbell until she responds to the subpoena and any further order from the Court. Additionally, Bar Counsel seeks $1,250 in administrative costs from Campbell, arguing that other Bar members should not have to pay for her failure to comply and the initiation of this proceeding.

The underlying Bar investigation stems from a grievance complaint filed against Campbell by Svetlana Kozlovskaia in 2022. Few details are provided on the nature of the allegations against Campbell, though it’s noted that Kozlovskaia accused Campbell of not properly handling trust account funds.

According to Avvo, Ms. Campbell is a commercial attorney in Coral Gables, Florida. She graduated from the University of Miami School of Law. She obtained her law license in Florida in 2012.
