On Friday, August 8, 2025, the Idaho Supreme Court accepted the resignation of attorney Jack N. Wagner, effective immediately, as part of an agreement to avoid disciplinary proceedings. Wagner faced significant allegations related to misconduct and threats against the mother of his child.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jack N. Wagner.”
The court’s decision followed a stipulated resolution linked to multiple incidents of inappropriate behavior. Wagner admitted to struggles with alcohol abuse, which contributed to his actions. Notably, in May 2021, he left a threatening voicemail for M.K., the mother of his son, C.J., which prompted further complaints from her. In February 2024, he was charged with misdemeanor telephone harassment after again threatening M.K. in voicemail messages, to which he entered an Alford plea. His sentence included suspended jail time, community service, probation, and anger management treatment.
Wagner’s inappropriate conduct continued, as he sent multiple threatening texts to M.K. and made false claims regarding his actions at the Nampa Family Justice Center. M.K. eventually obtained a civil protection order against him. Despite this, Wagner filed motions in a custody case, alleging that M.K. had sought the order based on unfounded accusations.
In June 2025, Wagner escalated his threats, communicating with M.K. and her mother, S.G., and suggesting he would involve S.G.’s family unless they complied with his demands. He also attempted to negotiate terms involving financial compensation for custody rights, which were rejected.
As a result of these violations, which included engaging in conduct detrimental to the legal profession, the Idaho Supreme Court has barred Wagner from reapplying for admission to the Idaho State Bar for at least five years. His name has been removed from the court’s records, and he is no longer permitted to practice law in Idaho.
According to Avvo.com, Mr. Wagner was a divorce and separation attorney in Boise, Idaho. He attended the University of Idaho College of Law, graduating in 2020. He acquired his law license in Idaho in the same year.
