On Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Supreme Court of Louisiana suspended attorney Robert C. Jenkins Jr. The Court accepted a petition for consent discipline filed jointly by Jenkins and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Robert C. Jenkins, Jr.,” with case no. 2024-B-0733.
The charges cited Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4, 1.16(a)(1), 8.1(a), and 8.4(c).
According to the petition, Jenkins violated various Rules of Professional Conduct following a previous suspension from practice. Jenkins failed to notify a client of his April 2021 suspension and continued representing the client. He also filed two false affidavits with the Court.
As a result of these violations, Jenkins will be suspended from the practice of law for one year and one day. He will also be responsible for all costs associated with the disciplinary proceeding. The consent discipline brings an end to the investigation by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel into Jenkins’ conduct after his initial suspension.
According to avvo.com, Mr. Jenkins Jr. is a general practice attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana. He acquired his law license in Louisiana in 1988.
