On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the Supreme Court of Louisiana suspended attorney Frank G. DeSalvo from practicing law for six months, deferring the suspension entirely, contingent on DeSalvo completing a two-year probation period, due to mishandling his client trust account.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Frank G. DeSalvo,” with case no. 2025-B-00244.
The decision followed a joint petition for consent discipline submitted by DeSalvo and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC), which investigated the allegations.
The probation will begin once DeSalvo and the ODC finalize a formal probation plan. Any violation of the probation terms or additional misconduct during this period could result in the suspension being enforced or further disciplinary action.
DeSalvo is also responsible for covering all costs and expenses related to the disciplinary proceedings, as outlined in Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 10.1. Legal interest on these costs will accrue 30 days after the court’s judgment becomes final.
According to Avvo.com, Mr. Desalvo is a criminal defense attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana. He acquired his law license in Louisiana in 1968.
