On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the Supreme Court of Louisiana suspended attorney Jonathan Gardere Carter from practicing law on an interim basis.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jonathan Gardere Carter,” with case no. 2025-B-0076.

This decision follows a joint petition for suspension filed by Carter and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel. The suspension is effective immediately.

Additionally, the court has authorized the Office of Disciplinary Counsel to appoint a trustee if necessary to safeguard the interests of Carter’s clients, in line with Supreme Court Rule XIX, § 27.

According to avvo.com, Ms. Carter is an immigration attorney in Dallas, Texas. He acquired his law license in Louisiana in 2015.
