On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Clarice Y. Williams, an attorney licensed to practice law in Michigan, had her license automatically suspended due to non-payment of costs related to a previous disciplinary matter.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Clarice Y. Williams,” with case no. 23-62-GA.

Williams had received an Order of Reprimand by Consent in July 2023 from the Tri-County Hearing Panel #58 in the case of Grievance Administrator v. Clarice Y. Williams. As part of that order, Williams was required to pay $789.20 in assessed costs by August 16, 2023. She had received an extension to pay the amount in installments but defaulted on the installment plan in April 2024.

This resulted in a certification of non-payment of costs being issued. As a consequence of non-payment, Williams’ law license was automatically suspended effective April 11, 2024.

The suspension will remain in effect until Williams pays the full costs owed or has a new payment plan approved by the Attorney Discipline Board. She must also comply with additional court rules, specifically, MCR 9.119 and 9.123(A).

According to avvo.com, Ms. Williams is a real estate attorney in Southfield, Michigan. She acquired her law license in Michigan in 1981.
