On Thursday, July 11, 2024, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department accepted the nondisciplinary resignation of attorney Daniel Michael Majtan, III from the New York State Bar.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Daniel Michael Majtan, III,” with case no. PM-134-24.
Majtan had applied in May to resign from the New York bar for nondisciplinary reasons. However, the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department initially opposed his application, asserting that he had failed to meet his attorney registration requirements for the 2024-2025 biennial period. But in a supplemental letter on June 25, 2024, Majtan attested that he had become current with his New York registration. Office of Court Administration records also confirmed that any prior lapses in his registration were cured.
With the Attorney Grievance Committee raising no other substantive objections, and satisfied that Majtan was now eligible under court rules to resign from the bar nondisciplinary, the New York Court accepted his resignation application. The court subsequently issued an order removing Majtan’s name from the roll of qualified attorneys in New York, prohibiting him from practicing law in the state or representing himself as an attorney and requiring him to surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to him within 30 days.
The Disposition states:
“ORDERED that Daniel Michael Majtan III’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”
According to avvo.com, Mr. Majtan attended the American University, Washington College of Law. He acquired his law license in New York in 2010.
