On Thursday, June 12, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted Attorney Hope Ann Comisky’s request to resign from the New York Bar for nondisciplinary reasons. Comisky submitted her resignation application earlier in the year, with her affidavit filed on April 22, 2025.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Hope Ann Comisky,” with case no. PM-134-25.
The court reviewed Comisky’s affidavit and the response from the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department, dated June 3, 2025. The committee did not oppose the application. After determining Comisky’s eligibility for nondisciplinary resignation, the court approved her request, effective immediately.
As part of the court’s order, Comisky’s name was removed from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York. She is now prohibited from practicing law in any capacity within the state, including acting as an agent, clerk, or employee of another attorney.
The court further barred Comisky from appearing before any court, judge, or public authority as an attorney or providing legal opinions or advice. Additionally, she is forbidden from presenting herself as an attorney or counselor-at-law in New York. The court mandated that Comisky surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to her to the Office of Court Administration within 30 days of the decision.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that Hope Ann Comisky’s application for permission to resign is granted and her nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”
According to the filing, Ms. Comisky acquired her law license in New York in 1993.
