On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department granted a motion to reinstate Alan K. Cooper as an attorney and counselor-at-law in the State of New York, effective immediately.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Alan K. Cooper,” with case no. 2025-07853.
The action comes after a previous order by the court on April 2, 2009, which suspended Cooper from practicing law due to non-compliance with Judiciary Law §468-a.
The court noted that Cooper had moved for an order granting reinstatement and had complied with Judiciary Law §468-a on or about November 10, 2025, subsequent to the effective date of the prior suspension order.
According to Avvo.com, Mr. Cooper acquired his law license in New York in 1986.
