On Friday, July 12, 2024, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ordered the temporary suspension of attorney Kimberly Ann Furmanek from practicing law.
The case is entitled “Office of Disciplinary Counsel v. Kimberly Ann Furmanek,” with case no. 154 DB 2023.
According to the order, Furmanek did not respond to the Rule to Show Cause why she should not be suspended. As a result, the court made the rule absolute and placed Furmanek on temporary suspension until further action was taken. The order requires Furmanek to comply with the provisions of Pa.R.D.E. 217.
It also directed the president judge of Greene County Court of Common Pleas to issue orders to safeguard Furmanek’s clients. Additionally, any financial institutions where Furmanek holds client or fiduciary funds must freeze those accounts pending review. However, the order preserves Furmanek’s rights to petition for changing the suspension and to request expedited handling of the charges that led to this discipline.
According to martindale.com, Ms. Furmanek acquired her law license in Pennsylvania in 2014.
