On Thursday, August 17, 2023, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals disbarred attorney David T. Schlendorf based on a certified order from the State of New Jersey, permanently disbarring Schlendorf by consent from practicing law in that state.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of David T. Schlendorf,” and was brought by the Disciplinary Counsel, case no. 23-BG-0479.
According to court documents, Schlendorf was disbarred by the Supreme Court of New Jersey on December 28, 2022. The disbarment order was based on Schlendorf’s consent to permanent disbarment in New Jersey.
The District of Columbia Court of Appeals had previously suspended him on June 16, 2023, pending the resolution of this matter, and directed him to show cause as to why reciprocal discipline should not be imposed. However, Schlendorf had not filed a response or submitted his affidavit as required.
In light of the foregoing facts, the Court after careful consideration of the order from New Jersey, took decisive action and disbarred Schlendorf from practicing law in the District of Columbia.
Mr. David T. Schlendorf practiced in Toms River, New Jersey prior to his disbarment. He graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 1996. Schlendorf had been licensed to practice in the District of Columbia, license no. 463998. His info can be found on LinkedIn.
