On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, the Supreme Court of Illinois denied the Petition by the Administrator of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) for leave to file exceptions to the Report and Recommendation of the Review Board concerning the disciplinary charges against Bloomington attorney James P. Ginzkey. The Court also censured Ginzkey for knowingly disobeying an obligation under the rules of a tribunal and engaging in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice.

On December 29, 2022, the Review Board of ARDC agreed with the Hearing Board’s recommendation to censure Ginzkey upon the determination that Ginzkey knowingly violated tribunal rules and engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice by sending privileged documents to his expert witness.
The Administrator filed a petition seeking to file exceptions to the Review Board’s report and recommendation. However, the Supreme Court of Illinois denied the petition and ruled to censure Ginzkey for his aforementioned misconduct.
