On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, the Supreme Court of Maryland ordered the indefinite suspension from the practice of law of Frederick attorney Stephen Anthony Glessner by consent.

The case is styled ‘Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland v. Stephen Anthony Glessner,’ case no. AG No. 44.

The charges cited Rules 19-301.1, 19-301.3, 19-301.4, 19-301.5, 19-301.15(a) and (c), 19-301.16(d), 19-305.3(a) and (b), 19-308.1(b), 19-308.4(a) and (d) of the Maryland Attorneys’ Rules of Professional Conduct.

According to the court filing, Bar Counsel and Glessner filed a joint petition for indefinite suspension by consent on May 15, 2023, in which Glessner consented to the imposition of indefinite suspension.

Upon consideration of the parties’ joint petition, the Court ruled in favor of the petition thereby entering an order indefinitely suspending Glessner from the practice of law.

The disposition reads:

“ORDERED, by the Supreme Court of Maryland, that, effective immediately, the Respondent, Stephen Anthony Glessner, be indefinitely suspended from the practice of law in the State of Maryland. . .

ORDERED, that the Clerk of this Court shall strike the name of Stephen Anthony Glessnerfrom the register of attorneys in this Court and shall certify that fact to the Trustees of the Client Protection Fund of the Bar of Maryland and all Clerks of all judicial tribunals in this State in accordance with Maryland Rule 19-761(b).”

Mr. Glessner practiced in Frederick prior to the suspension. He has been admitted to practice in Maryland since 1984. Glessner attended Dickinson School of Law at the Pennsylvania State University.  Glessner’s info can be found on Avvo.com.
