On Thursday, April 18, 2024, the Supreme Court of Tennessee issued an order transferring attorney Jack Randal Tomblin to disability inactive status. The order came at the request of the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility pursuant to Tennessee Rule of Supreme Court 9, Section 27.3.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jack Randal Tomblin,” with case no. M2024-00563-SC-BAR-BP.

After reviewing documentation from Mr. Tomblin and his medical provider, the Court concluded that Tomblin is currently incapacitated from continuing the practice of law due to his disability. As a result, Tomblin’s law license will be transferred to disability inactive status for an indefinite period until further notice from the Supreme Court.

The order allows Tomblin to petition for reinstatement to active status at a later time if his condition improves, and he can effectively practice law again without issues.

According to avvo.com, Mr. Tomblin is an estate planning attorney in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended the South Texas College of Law, graduating in 1980. He acquired his law license in Tennessee in 2003.
