On Thursday, May 11, 2023, the Presiding Disciplinary Judge of the Supreme Court of Arizona entered its Final Judgment and Order concerning the suspension of Tempe attorney Andrew Gregory Morrison for failure to respond to Bar inquiries.

The case is styled as ‘In the Matter of Andrew Gregory Morrison,’ and was brought by the State Bar of Arizona, under case no. 22-0993.

The charges cited  Rule 42, Arizona Rules of Professional Conduct ERs 1.3, 1.4, 3.2, 8.1, and 8.4.

The Arizona Rules of Professional Conduct can be found here.

On April 10, 2023, the hearing panel entered an order suspending Morrison from the practice of law in Arizona for 30 days.

The State Bar of Arizona (SBA) filed a complaint, alleging that he neglected to submit the required paperwork while acting as counsel for his client, the complainant in this case. His client’s authority was revoked as a result of this failure, and the probate case was dismissed.

In October 2021, the complainant made a formal request to Morrison for specific information; however, Morrison failed to provide a response. Subsequently, in May 2022, the State Bar of Arizona endeavored to obtain information from Morrison, but his response proved unsatisfactory. Despite several diligent attempts to contact Morrison and solicit a written response, he did not reply to the inquiries made by the bar counsel.

The State Bar requested that Morrison be suspended for six months and one day, while the hearing panel, on the other hand, decided that a 30-day suspension with probation was the appropriate sanction.

Morrison has not filed an appeal to the April 10, 2023, order of suspension.

With the foregoing facts and discussions, the presiding disciplinary judge concluded that Morrison’s acts violated the rules of professional conduct as charged, thereby entering a Final Judgment and Order suspending Morrison for his conduct.

The Disposition reads:

“IT IS ORDERED that Andrew Gregory Morrison, Bar No. 031006, is suspended from the practice of law in Arizona for 30 days, effective May 10, 2023, for his conduct in violation of the Arizona Rules of Professional Conduct and Rules fo the Supreme Court of Arizona, as outlined in the hearing panel’s decision.”
