On January 6, 2025, the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Board of Professional Responsibility publicly censured attorney Jason Lee Holly, for multiple violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jason Lee Holly,” with case number 71829c-1-MH.

According to the disciplinary document, Holly represented clients in a custody case, a breach of contract case, and a criminal case. In all three cases, Holly failed to take proper action, communicate with clients, and make reasonable efforts to expedite the litigation. He also failed to respond to requests for information from the Disciplinary Counsel and did not refund fees to any of his three clients.

Additionally, Holly was temporarily suspended from practicing law on October 27, 2024, for failing to respond to three disciplinary complaints. However, he knowingly failed to comply with the court order by not notifying his clients of the suspension or delivering their files and property as required.

As a result of these violations, the Board of Professional Responsibility publicly censured Holly and ordered him to refund a total of $5,500 in attorney fees to his three clients within 60 days of the censure.

The disciplinary action highlights the importance of attorneys upholding their professional responsibilities and ethical obligations to their clients.

According to Avvo, Mr. Holly is a criminal defense lawyer in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He obtained his law license in Tennessee in 2005.
