On Friday, April 21, 2023, the Supreme Court of Appeals of the State of West Virginia ruled on the affidavit of Morgantown attorney Amanda Beth Godwin consenting to disbarment.
The case is entitled ‘Lawyer Disciplinary Board vs. Amanda B. Godwin,’ with case #22-813.
According to court documents, the Office of Lawyer Disciplinary Counsel filed a petition on February 24, 2023, requesting the Court to accept the annulment of Morgantown attorney Amanda B. Godwin’s license to practice law in the state. The petition further requested the Court to dismiss as moot the pending Statement of Charges against Godwin.
Godwin filed her formal affidavit, under seal, consenting to voluntary disbarment on February 27, 2023.
In light of the foregoing facts, the Court granted the petition and issued an order annulling Godwin’s license to practice law by voluntary consent.
A separate order was also entered dismissing the pending Statement of Charges against Godwin as moot, in light of Godwin’s license having been annulled by consent.
