On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the Supreme Court of Oklahoma issued an order to suspend Andrea Beth Fryar from practicing law in the state.

The case is entitled “State of Oklahoma ex rel. Oklahoma Bar Association v. Andrea Beth Fryar A.K.A. Andrea Beth Bennett,” with case no. 7713.

According to the order, the Oklahoma Bar Association filed documents with the Court regarding Fryar’s criminal case in Cleveland County. Fryar pled guilty to felony child endangerment by driving under the influence as well as various misdemeanor charges for DUI, transporting an open container of alcohol, and leaving the scene of an accident. She received a suspended four-year sentence for the felony and suspended sentences for the misdemeanors.

The Supreme Court cited Rule 7.3 of the Rules Governing Disciplinary Proceedings in ordering Fryar’s interim suspension until further notice. Fryar was directed to show cause why the suspension should be lifted, and the OBA has until September 6, 2024, to reply.
