On Monday, June 16, 2025, the Virginia State Bar announced the Circuit Court for the County of Fairfax suspended Attorney Douglas Bell Wessel’s law license. The suspension, effective July 15, 2025, will last 13 months.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Douglas Bell Wessel,” with case no. 24-052-130949.
Wessel faced disciplinary action for violating professional conduct rules related to diligence, proper termination of representation, and mishandling client property.
During the suspension, Wessel is prohibited from practicing law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
According to Martindale.com, Mr. Wessel attended the University of Richmond, graduating in 1979. He acquired his law license in Virginia in the same year.
