On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the Attorney Discipline Board of Michigan issued a public reprimand to Gregory J. Rohl. The reprimand stems from a complaint filed against Rohl regarding his improper supervision of employees in his law office.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Gregory J. Rohl,” with case no. 23-91-GA.
The charges cited Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 5.1(b) and 8.4(c) and Michigan Court Rules 9.104(1)
According to the notice, Rohl failed to oversee his staff which resulted in a client not receiving settlement funds for five years, though the money had been in Rohl’s client trust account since being deposited. The client only received her money after she filed a request for an investigation against Rohl.
Rohl admitted to all allegations of misconduct in the formal complaint. The Tri-County Hearing Panel #61 found Rohl violated Michigan’s Rules of Professional Conduct regarding failure to properly supervise subordinate attorneys and staff. As a sanction, the hearing panel ordered Rohl to be publicly reprimanded and pay $760.21 in costs.
According to avvo.com, Mr. Rohl is a criminal defense attorney in Novi, Michigan. He acquired his law license in Michigan in 1986.
