On Friday, May 16, 2025, the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility announced that the Supreme Court of Tennessee suspended attorney Linn Marie Guerrero from practicing law for five years. The suspension, effective immediately, mandates that Guerrero serve two years of active suspension, followed by three years of probation. Conditions of her probation include engaging a practice monitor and paying all costs and expenses incurred by the Board.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Linn Marie Guerrero.”

The charges cited Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.16, 3.2, and 8.4(c)(d).

The disciplinary action stems from five separate complaints of misconduct. Guerrero was found to have engaged in conflicts of interest by representing clients in adverse positions, entered fee agreements without client consent, and charged excessive, unreasonable fees without supporting billing records. She also misused her fiduciary role, failed to communicate adequately with clients, neglected diligent representation, and abandoned client matters without returning property or safeguarding their interests.

Guerrero executed a Conditional Guilty Plea, admitting her actions violated multiple Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct, including rules on representation scope, diligence, communication, fees, conflicts of interest, duties to former clients, termination of representation, expediting litigation, and misconduct.

Guerrero must adhere to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9, Sections 28 and 30.4, outlining obligations for suspended attorneys and reinstatement procedures.

According to Avvo.com, Ms. Guerrero is an attorney in Knoxville, Tennessee. She attended the University of Tennessee College of Law. She acquired her law license in Tennessee in 2014.
