On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted attorney Steven C. Goldberg’s request to resign from the New York State Bar for nondisciplinary reasons.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Steven C. Goldberg,” with case no. PM-196-24.
The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department did not oppose Goldberg’s application. The court accepted his resignation after reviewing his affidavit filed on August 27, 2024, and correspondence from the Deputy Chief Attorney dated September 24, 2024.
Goldberg is now barred from practicing law in New York in any capacity. He must also surrender his Attorney Secure Pass to the Office of Court Administration within 30 days. By approving his resignation, the court removed Goldberg’s name from the roll of licensed attorneys in New York.
The Disposition states:
“ORDERED that Steven C. Goldberg’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”
According to the filing, Mr. Goldberg acquired his law license in New York in 1982.
