On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division Third Judicial Department entered an order removing D.C. attorney Juan Pablo Gardea’s name from the state’s roll of attorneys pursuant to Gardea’s application for resignation for non-disciplinary reasons.
The case is titled “In the Matter of Juan Pablo Gardea,” with case no. PM-109-23.
According to the Memorandum and Order on Motion, Gardea has been admitted to practice in New York in 201p. He sought resignation and filed his affidavit in support of his resignation, to which the Attorney Grievance Committee made no objections.
Accordingly, the Court, upon determination of Gardea’s eligibility to resign for non-disciplinary reasons, ruled in favor of Gardea.
The disposition reads:
“ORDERED that Juan Pablo Gardea’s application for permission to resign is granted and his non-disciplinary resignation is accepted, and it is further
ORDERED that Juan Pablo Gardea’s name is hereby stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law of the State of New York, effective immediately, and until further order of this Court. . .”
