On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, the Disciplinary District IX of the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee ruled on charges of attorney discipline against Memphis attorney Patrick E. Stegall alleging certain acts of misconduct.

The case is entitled “In Re: Patrick E. Stegall” with Case #71032-9-SC.

The charges cited Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 (diligence), 3.2 (expediting litigation), and 3.4(c) (knowing violation of an obligation under the rules of a tribunal).

The rules of professional conduct can be found on the Tennessee State Courts website.

Stegall allegedly engaged in misconduct by his failure to file the required trial court transcript and also failed to file a motion seeking an extension of the filing deadline in a client matter. Due to this failure, a show cause hearing was conducted where the Court found him to be in contempt.

By these acts, the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility concluded that Mr. Stegall violated the above-cited rules and publicly censured him for these violations.

According to Avvo, Mr. Patrick E. Stegall practices in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended the University of Memphis Law School, graduating in 2005. He has been licensed in Tennessee, as well as in Arkansas and Mississippi.
