On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for Suffolk County ordered the administrative suspension of attorney Timothy E. Angley. The order was prompted by a petition and affidavit submitted by the Office of Bar Counsel on October 10, 2025.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Timothy E. Angley,” with case no. BD-2025-075.
According to Supreme Judicial Court Rule 4:01, § 3(3), Angley must file an affidavit with the Court, with copies to the Board of Bar Overseers and Bar Counsel, detailing his compliance with Supreme Judicial Court Rule 4:01, § 3(1) and § 17 as a condition for potential reinstatement.
If Angley is not reinstated within the stipulated fourteen-day period, he will be required to adhere to additional provisions of Rule 4:01, § 17. This includes filing a notice of withdrawal with all courts, agencies, and tribunals where he has pending cases, along with client residence information, case captions, and docket numbers. He must also resign from all fiduciary appointments, such as guardian, executor, or trustee, providing similar notifications to wards, heirs, and beneficiaries.
Furthermore, Angley is obligated to notify all clients, wards, heirs, and beneficiaries of his administrative suspension, emphasizing his disqualification from practicing law and advising them to seek alternative legal representation or fiduciary services. He must also inform opposing counsel in pending cases of his suspension. Angley is required to make available all client papers and property, refund unearned fees, and close all IOLTA, client, trust, or other fiduciary accounts, properly disbursing all funds. All notifications must be sent via certified mail, return receipt requested, using a form approved by the Board.
Angley must also file an affidavit of compliance with the Office of the Bar Counsel, certifying his adherence to the order and bar disciplinary rules. This affidavit must include copies of all notices sent, a schedule of all bank accounts holding client or fiduciary funds, a description of the disposition of these funds, proof of proper distribution, a list of jurisdictions where he is admitted to practice, his current address, and all bar registration cards. A copy of the compliance affidavit, along with the list of jurisdictions and current address, must also be filed with the Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court for Suffolk County.
