On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the Nebraska Supreme Court issued a judgment of disbarment for attorney Robb N. Gage after he voluntarily surrendered his law license.

The case is entitled “Counsel for Disicpline of the Nebraska Supreme Court v. Robb N. Gage.”

Gage had been admitted to practice law in Nebraska since 2002 and worked in Omaha. In February 2021, he was arrested in Douglas County and charged with four counts of of possession of controlled substance. This led the court to temporarily suspend his law license in March 2021 while the criminal charges were pending.

In March 2022, Gage pled no contest to two reduced charges of possession of cocaine and fentanyl, both Class IV felonies. He was sentenced to 30 months probation as part of a plea agreement where two other charges were dismissed.

After disciplinary procedures were started against him, Gage signed a waiver in September 2023 to bypass a review of the accusations against him by the Committee on Inquiry. He consented to the filing of formal charges. On March 1, 2024, Gage voluntarily turned in his law license.

Per court rules on disciplinary actions, the Supreme Court accepted Gage’s voluntary surrender of his license. He the allegations against him and waived all legal proceedings related to the pending disciplinary case. The court subsequently ordered that Gage be officially disbarred from practicing law in the state, effective immediately.

The Disposition states:

“Upon due consideration, the court accepts the respondent’s voluntary surrender of his license to practice law, finds that the respondent should be disbarred, and hereby orders him disbarred from the practice of law in the State of Nebraska, effective immediately.”

According to the filing, Mr. Gate acquired his law license in Nebraska in 2002.
