On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted Attorney Matteo D’Agostini’s application to resign from the New York bar for nondisciplinary reasons.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Matteo D’Agostini,” with case no. PM-268-25.
D’Agostini swore an affidavit on September 29, 2025, seeking permission to resign. This affidavit was officially filed on October 15, 2025. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department (AGC) reviewed D’Agostini’s application and, in a correspondence dated November 20, 2025, indicated that it did not oppose his resignation.
The court determined that D’Agostini met the eligibility requirements for a nondisciplinary resignation as outlined in the Rules for Attorney Disciplinary Matters [22 NYCRR] § 1240.22 [a]. Consequently, the court ordered that D’Agostini’s name be removed from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York State, effective immediately. This action is in accordance with Rules for Attorney Disciplinary Matters [22 NYCRR] § 1240.22 [b].
Following the resignation, D’Agostini is prohibited from practicing law in any capacity within New York State. This includes acting as a principal, agent, clerk, or employee of another legal entity. He is also barred from appearing as an attorney or counselor-at-law before any court, judge, justice, board, commission, or other public authority. Furthermore, he cannot provide legal opinions, advice, or hold himself out as an attorney in New York.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that Matteo D’Agostini’s application for permission to resign is granted and his nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”
According to Avvo.com, Mr. Agostini attended the Washington University St. Louis School of Law. He acquired his law license in New York in 2016.
