On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted attorney Paul M. Gionfriddo’s request to resign from the New York Bar for nondisciplinary reasons.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Paul M. Gionfriddo,” with case no. PM-126-25.

Gionfriddo filed his affidavit on April 7, 2025.  The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department reviewed the application and raised no objections. The court evaluated Gionfriddo’s submission and the committee’s response. After confirming his eligibility, the panel unanimously approved the resignation.

He is also barred from appearing before any court, judge, justice, board, commission, or public authority in New York as an attorney or counselor-at-law.

Additionally, Gionfriddo is forbidden from providing legal opinions or advice or presenting himself as a licensed attorney in the state. The court further mandated that Gionfriddo surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to him to the Office of Court Administration within 30 days of the decision.
