On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted Jung Hyun Oh’s motion for reinstatement as an attorney and counselor-at-law.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jung Hyun Oh,” with case no. PM-113-25.

Oh had been suspended from practicing law in New York by a court order issued in September 2024 for violating Judiciary Law § 468-a. The decision followed a review of Oh’s motion and supporting documents, which demonstrated his compliance with the suspension order and court rules.

The court’s ruling came after Oh submitted a notice of motion and an affidavit with exhibits sworn on January 9, 2025, followed by a supplemental affidavit on February 24, 2025. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department provided responsive correspondence on March 21, 2025.

The court evaluated the evidence and determined that Oh met the necessary criteria for reinstatement. Specifically, the court found clear and convincing evidence that Oh adhered to the terms of his suspension, possessed the requisite character and fitness to practice law, and that his reinstatement would serve the public interest.

The ruling allows Oh to resume his legal practice in New York immediately, marking the conclusion of the disciplinary matter initiated by the Attorney Grievance Committee.

The Disposition states:

“ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted; and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”
