On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the reinstatement of attorney Jessica Lee Cardone to the practice of law. This decision follows her suspension, which the Court imposed in May 2019 due to violations of Judiciary Law § 468-a.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jessica Lee Cardone,” with case no. PM-166-25.
The Court reviewed her notice of motion, along with supporting affidavits and exhibits, which included an affidavit sworn on May 21, 2025, and a supplemental affidavit sworn on June 27, 2025. The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department also provided responsive correspondence dated June 23, 2025.
In its ruling, the Court determined that Cardone had complied with the conditions of her suspension and adhered to the rules established by the Court, based on clear and convincing evidence. Furthermore, the Court found that she possesses the necessary character and fitness to resume her legal practice. It was also concluded that reinstating Cardone would serve the public interest.
While her application for reinstatement was granted, the Court imposed specific conditions that Cardone must satisfy. She is required to complete 2½ continuing legal education credits in Skills and/or Law Practice Management, focusing on topics directly related to the practice of law in New York. Cardone must provide proof of her compliance with this requirement to both the Court and the Attorney Grievance Committee within 60 days of the order.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that the respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted.”
According to Avvo.com, Ms. Cardone is an attorney in Flemington, New Jersey. She attended Hofstra University School of Law. She acquired her law license in New York in 2008.
