On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals ordered the suspension of Princeton attorney Scott J. Capriglione in consideration of the order of suspension from the state of New Jersey.

The case, titled In Re Scott J. Capriglione was brought by the Disciplinary Counsel. Case #DDN2021-D129.

On May 18, 2021, Capriglione was suspended from the practice of law in New Jersey for one year. For this reason, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals ordered the suspension pending the final disposition of the matter and directed Capriglione to show cause why the reciprocal discipline of a one-year suspension with fitness requirement should not be imposed on him. Caprioglione, however, did not file a response.

Moreover, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, by an order dated October 19, 2022, reciprocally suspended Capriglione for a period of one year.

Based on the foregoing facts, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals imposed the same sanction as that of New Jersey.

The Order reads:

“ORDERED that Scott J. Capriglione is hereby suspended from the practice of law in the District of Columbia for a period of one year with reinstatement contingent on a showing of fitness.”

Prior to the suspension, Mr. Capriglione practiced in Princeton, New Jersey. According to Avvo, he has been licensed in the District of Columbia, license #394850, as well as in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
