On February 27, 2023, the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia ordered the reinstatement of Columbus attorney Joseph W. Powell II to the practice of law following his suspension on January 24, 2023, for failure to adequately respond to the State Bar’s Notice of Investigation.
The case is styled “In the Matter of Joseph W. Powell” case #S23Y0546.
Following his response to the state bar’s investigation, Powell requested that the suspension be lifted.
Accordingly, the Court, after finding Powell’s response to be adequate, ruled in favor of Powell and ordered the latter’s reinstatement to the practice of law in the state of Georgia.
As of today, Mr. Powell practices in Columbus, Georgia for the law firm Powell & Tante. He attended Mercer University-W. George Law School. Powell has been admitted to practice in 1971, license #586100. His info can be found on the State Bar of Georgia’s website.
