On Thursday, October 27, 2022, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals ruled on the disciplinary charges against Falls Church attorney Rachael-Anne Hammer in relation to the latter’s suspension in Virginia.
The case titled In Re Rachael-Anne Hammer was brought by the Disciplinary Counsel. Case #22-BG-626.
The Order states:
“On consideration of the certified order from the Commonwealth of Virginia suspending respondent from the practice of lawfor60days with additional terms; this court’sAugust 23, 2022, order suspending respondent pending resolution of this matter and directing her to show cause why reciprocal discipline should not be imposed; and the statement of Disciplinary Counsel, and it appearing that respondent has not filed a response orherD.C. Bar R. XI, §14(g) affidavit.”
The disposition reads:
“ORDERED that Rachael-Anne Hammer is hereby suspended for 60 days in the District of Columbia. . . it is
“FURTHER ORDERED that for purposes of reinstatement, respondent’s suspension will not begin to run until such time as she files an affidavit that fully complies with the requirements of D.C. Bar R. XI, § 14(g).
According to Avvo, Ms. Hammer attended the Georgetown University Law Center, graduating in 1999. She has practiced in Falls Church, Virginia. Hammer has been licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia.
